5th & York is a North Carolina jazz band with influences ranging from the Yellow Jackets and Fourplay to the great funk bands of the ’70s and ’80s. The band consists of saxophonist and co-founder Derwin Friday, bassist Dewarren Tate, guitarist Derrick Friday, drummer Johnny Gillard, and keyboardist/musical director George Mason.
