The “Empress of Soul,” Gladys Knight has added two more North Carolina dates for her current “farewell tour,” coming to Charlotte’s Ovens Auditorium on February 21 and Greensboro’s Tanger Center on February 27. The 10-time Grammy Award-winner and Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee received a National Medal of Arts in 2021 and Kennedy Center Honors in 2022. Best known for her songs “Midnight Train to Georgia” and “That’s What Friends Are For,” Knight has earned 11 No. 1 R&B singles and six No. 1 R&B albums throughout her decorated career.
