Ahead of the release of their debut studio album, The Record, indie rock supergroup Boygenius (Julien Baker, Phoebe Bridgers, and Lucy Dacus) have announced a U.S. tour making two stops in North Carolina: Asheville (Harrah’s Cherokee Center) on June 13 and Wilmington (Live Oak Bank Pavilion) on June 14.
Opening for the North Carolina dates will be Bartees Strange, who is coming off the release of his critically acclaimed sophomore album, Farm to Table, released through 4AD. The album was named the 16th best of 2022 by Rolling Stone, and seventh best by the New York Times. Clairo, Carly Rae Jepsen, Broken Social Scene, and Illuminati Hotties will open on other dates.
Boygenius formed in 2018 and released their self-titled debut EP in the same year. The band has released four singles: “$20,” “True Blue,” “Emily I’m Sorry,” and “Not Strong Enough,” ahead of the release of their new album, The Record, due out on Friday, March 31.
