Carolina Ascent FC is gearing up for their second home match against Lexington Sporting Club on Sunday. The team comes into the game with momentum after earning the USL Super League’s first-ever win, a historic 1-0 victory over DC Power FC in front of a record-breaking crowd of 10,553 fans at American Legion Memorial Stadium. Midfielder Vicky Bruce scored the first goal in both Carolina Ascent FC and USL Super League history in the 28th minute from a free kick, with assists by Audrey Harding and Annika Creel.

Now they prepare to face Lexington SC to build on their strong inaugural outing. The soccer club from Lexington, Kentucky, are one of eight teams in the new USL Super League, a Division One professional women’s soccer league.
