Charlotte Pride Festival returns to Uptown this weekend headlined by Big Freedia and Trina with events happening all over the city this week. Founded in 2000, Charlotte Pride launched their first festival in 2001 and has grown to become the largest LGBTQ celebration of its kind in the Carolinas.
The two-day cultural festival features a variety of national, regional, and local entertainers, musicians, bands, and hundreds of vendor booths (including art exhibits, local shops, a food court, and more).
The Charlotte Pride Drag Pageant takes place Saturday from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the Charlotte Pride Community Stage, featuring some of the best local drag performers competing for the crowns of Mx. Charlotte Pride, Ms. Charlotte Pride, and Mr. Charlotte Pride.
The Charlotte Pride Parade will take place Sunday from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. on North Tryon Street, celebrating overs 40 years of the pride movement in Charlotte with more than 200 contingents, 40-plus floats, and 10,000 marchers.
