The United States men’s national soccer team will play a match in Charlotte for the first time in history as they take on Trinidad & Tobago in the CONCACAF Gold Cup. USMNT and Honduras headline the nations that will take part in a double header on Sunday, July 2 at Bank of America Stadium. The United States men’s national soccer team beat Mexico to take home the Gold Cup in 2021.
Held every two years, CONCACAF Gold Cup is the main association football competition of the men’s national football teams governed by CONCACAF, determining the continental champion of North America, Central America and the Caribbean.
Two matches will take place at Bank of America Stadium on Sunday, July 2 with United States vs. Trinidad & Tobago beginning at 7:00 p.m. and Honduras taking on Haiti at 9:00 p.m.
The United States men’s national soccer team faced Jamaica in the opening match of the 2023 CONCACAF Gold Cup on Saturday, June 24. Jamaica’s Damion Onandi Lowe punched in a set-piece to take a 1-0 lead in 13′. Then, Brandon Vazquez’s strike helped the USMNT tie the match, 1-1 in 88′.
