Chart-topping R&B/hip-hop rapper and singer Doja Cat has announced her first arena tour with fast-rising New York artist Ice Spice, coming to Charlotte’s Spectrum Center on Sunday, November 26.
Doja Cat originally earned viral success with her 2018 single “Mooo!” and followed with a deluxe version of her debut studio album, Amala, in 2019, featuring breakthrough singles “Juicy” and “Tia Tamera.” She released her sophomore effort, Hot Pink, in the same year and reached No. 9 on the Billboard 200. Doja Cat won a Grammy (Best Pop Duo/Group Performance) for the single, “Kiss Me More,” a collaboration with SZA, and was nominated for Album of the Year in 2021 for Planet Her at the 64th Annual Grammy Awards. She released her fourth studio album, Scarlet, on September 22, 2023, earning three more nominations for the songs “Paint the Town Red” and “Attention.”
Bronx rapper Ice Spice has been fast on the rise, becoming one of the most viral artists in the past year, following the release of her single, “Munch (Feelin’ U),” in 2022. She has had four Top 10 Billboard-charting hits in 2023: “Boy’s a Liar Pt. 2” (with PinkPantheress), “Princess Diana” (with Nicki Minaj), “Karma” (with Taylor Swift), and “Barbie World” (with Nicki Minaj and Aqua). Ice Spice recently teased an upcoming project, Y2K!, slated for 2024.
