An evening celebrating the music of Doc Watson with his longtime musical performing partner, bluegrass guitarist, Jack Lawrence. Lawrence will be joined by the Charlotte Bluegrass Allstars, Adam Lawrence (his son), Emanuel Wynter, Justin Fedor, and Sam Tayloe for this special Doc Watson tribute show.
The legendary North Carolina bluegrass/folk guitarist and singer-songwriter, Watson, who was honored with a Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award in 2004, passed away in 2012. Watson would have celebrated his 100th birthday this year. MerleFest, the long-running North Carolina music festival that takes place annually in Wilkesboro, North Carolina is named after Watson’s late son, Merle.
Photographer Daniel Coston will also be on hand displaying his collection of rare Doc Watson photos.
