Charlotte indie rock label, Four Finger Records, will present a special holiday concert at Petra’s on Friday night with Siege Hardee, Benton, Thousand Dollar Movie, and Whistler.
C.J. “Siege” Hardee is a multi-instrumentalist, producer and singer-songwriter from Charlotte, best known as a member of the bands Matrimony and Bassh. Hardee has released three singles (“Come Awake,” “Orion,” and “Reunited), and is expected to drop his a first full-length project soon.
Thousand Dollar Movie is a Charlotte post-rock band and the brainchild of musician Jeremy Ryan Smith. Often accompanied by Leo Solis (guitar, synths) of the indie synth-pop group Solis, Zach Luper (guitar), and Dominic Geralds (drums) of Jude Moses, Thousand Dollar draws influence from instrumental rock bands like Explosions in the Sky. Their debut EP, Give Me A Year, is a sonic ode to the Queen City featuring songs like “Central Ave” and “Elizabeth.” They released a new project, Birdfeeder, Vol. 1, in June.
Benton is a Charlotte-based new wave/synth-pop project fronted by singer-songwriter, producer, and multi-instrumentalist Jonathan Hussey (Fortune Teller, Siege Hardee, BASSH). He released his debut project as Benton, Polyvision, in 2022.
Whistler is an indie rock band from Charlotte, consisting of Will Royson (vocals, guitar) and Paul Brazell (guitar). The duo released their debut EP, Everywhere But Here, in 2021.
