Growing up in the Magnolia Projects of New Orleans, Juvenile’s career took off with Cash Money Records in the late ’90s with the success of the rap group The Hot Boys, and his third studio album, 400 Degreez, featuring the hit singles “Ha” and “Back That Azz Up.” He followed up with Tha G-Code in 1999, with the tracks “U Understand” and “I Got That Fire,” and his most recent platinum-selling album, Juve the Great, in 2003, which featured the chart-topping single, “Slow Motion,” with Soulja Slim.
In 2023, Juvenile performed for NPR’s Tiny Desk Concert with longtime producer Mannie Fresh and New Orleans musicians Jon Batiste, Trombone Shorty, and Alvin Ford Jr.
