Leela James is an R&B singer-songwriter who released her breakout debut album, A Change Is Gonna Come, in 2005, earning an NAACP Award nomination for Outstanding New Artist. She has gone on to release seven studio albums with her latest, See Me, in 2021 featuring the chart-topping single, “Complicated.” James is scheduled to release a new album, Thought You Knew, on October 27.
