The Red Pears are an alternative rock band from El Monte, California, known for blending their gritty indie rock sound with elements of cumbia and corridos, reflecting the cultural background of founding members Henry Vargas (vocals, guitar) and Jose Corona (drums). They’ve garnered praise from outlets such as SPIN and the L.A. Times, performing at festivals like Coachella and SXSW, also opening for Chicano Batman at The Kia Forum.
Ultra Q is a California indie rock band fronted by singer-songwriter and guitarist Jakob Armstrong, the youngest son of Green Day’s Billie Joe Armstrong. The group, which includes high school friends Kevin Judd and brothers Enzo and Chris Malaspina, originally formed as a trio called Mt. Eddy before regrouping as Ultra Q in 2019. Their debut EP, We’re Starting to Get Along, was released in 2019, and the band released a new album, Empty Eddy, in March.
The High Curbs are a Southern California garage rock band, formed by Ed Moreno (vocals, guitar) and Aaron Korbe (drums). Known for their lo-fi sound that blends punk and surf rock, The High Curbs are a fixture in the California DIY music scene.
