To celebrate the release of the “Queen City” MB.01 sneaker, Puma and Hornets All-Star LaMelo Ball have refurbished the basketball courts at L.C. Coleman Neighborhood Park in west Charlotte. The court resembles Ball’s first signature sneaker which has been released in multiple colorways selling out most of the releases. Painted in a beautiful teal and purple, the court dons Melo’s logo at mid-court with his name and motto “1 of 1.”
The park is named after late Charlotte native and Johnson C. Smith graduate, L.C. Coleman, a neighborhood activist who fought for the integration of parks in the city. Coleman passed away in 2015 at the age of 92.
The purple “Queen City” MB.01 sneaker was first revealed at All-Star weekend in Cleveland and now have a release date of March 18 on the Puma website.
The basketball courts are located at 1501 McDonald St, Charlotte, NC 28216 at L.C. Coleman Neighborhood Park.
Puma also unveiled a video on social media to share the news of the release.
