Charlotte Hornets vs. Miami Heat at Spectrum Center (7:00 p.m.)
Tickets: $26 plus
The Hornets return home from a four-game road trip where they went 2-2, beating Sacramento and Portland while falling to Phoenix and San Antonio. Now sitting at .500 with a 34-34 record, Charlotte has cooled off slightly after a scorching start to the year but remains firmly in the 10th and final play-in spot. The Hornets will open the homestand against Miami, one of the league’s hottest teams as of late. The Heat have won 10 of their last 13 games and rank in the top five in both offensive and defensive rating over the past 15 games. North Carolina native Bam Adebayo is coming off an 83-point performance, and the matchup comes just 11 days after the teams last met at Spectrum Center, when Miami pulled away in the fourth quarter behind Tyler Herro’s 33 points, nine rebounds, and nine assists. Miami’s zone defense gave the Hornets trouble in that game, forcing 13 turnovers — something Charlotte will need to clean up as it looks to improve its position in the standings with just 14 games remaining in the regular season.
