Five-time Grammy Award-winning Afrobeats legend, Angélique Kidjo, will perform in Charlotte for a special concert at Knight Theater for the Charlotte International Arts Festival. One of Time Magazine‘s 100 most influential people in the world in 2021, the Beninese-French singer-songwriter, actress, and activist blends her West African roots with R&B, reggae, folk, and jazz with influences from Europe and Latin America.
Winner of the 2023 Polar Music Prize, Kidjo has collaborated with esteemed artists such as Burna Boy, Herbie Hancock, Peter Gabriel, Alicia Keys, Davido, Sampa the Great, Sting, John Legend, Carlos Santana, Ziggy Marley, Ezra Koenig, and many more. This will be the first time since 2014 the decorated world-renowned artist will perform in Charlotte.
