Coming off their 1-1 draw against the New York Red Bulls, sixth place Charlotte FC will take on I-85 rival Atlanta United FC on Saturday at The Bank as the playoff push continues. Charlotte will look to complete the season sweep after a 3-2 victory over Atlanta back in June.
Atlanta (currently ninth in the Eastern Conference), now without key players Giorgos Giakoumakis and Thiago Almada due to transfers, will rely on Saba Lobzhanidze and new addition Aleksei Miranchuk to spark their attack, as Charlotte FC will look to Karol Świderski and recent acquisition Pep Biel to boost their struggling offense.
Gates will open at 6:00 p.m. with the supporters march starting at 6:15 p.m. Charlotte FC flags will be distributed at the stadium entrances for fans to waive at 7:32 p.m. (and throughout the game) before the coronation, Fortress Video, national anthem, and kick off at 7:45 p.m.
The national anthem will be performed by UNC Charlotte grad Austin McNeil, a North Carolina native country singer-songwriter and musician who released his debut EP, Carolina, in 2023.
