Festival of India will celebrate its 28th year in Charlotte this week, expanding to two days in Uptown and Ballantyne’s Backyard. The festival has drawn thousands of visitors from Charlotte and neighboring counties to showcase the diversity of Indian culture and its traditions through dance, food, art, and music.
Day one on Tryon Street, Belk Theater, and Booth Playhouse will feature captivating performances blending Bollywood and classical Indian dance in addition to the vibrant art, crafts, fashion, and authentic Indian cuisine. You’ll also be able to enjoy yoga demos, henna tattoos, street performances, and activities.
Organized by the India Association of Charlotte, a non-profit organization established to serve the Indian Community in the Charlotte area, the festival’s mission is to share the culture and heritage of India in the Carolinas to foster diversity.
