George Porter Jr., best known as the bassist of the legendary New Orleans funk group, The Meters, returns to Charlotte with his band, Runnin’ Pardner, consisting of Michael Lemmler (keys), Terrence Houston (drums) and Chris Adkins (guitar). Porter, who has performed and recorded with esteemed artists such as Dr. John, Paul McCartney, Patti LaBelle, David Byrne, Harry Connick Jr., and Warren Haynes throughout his career, released a studio album, Crying For Hope, with Runnin’ Pardner in 2021. The Meters were honored with a Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award in 2018.
