Acclaimed New Orleans musician, singer-songwriter and producer Trombone Shorty has announced a U.S. tour with his band Orleans Avenue joined by Mavis Staples, Yola, Robert Randolph and Ziggy Marley. The tour will make four stops in North Carolina kicking off in Charlotte on June 2 at the newly renamed Skyla Credit Union Amphitheatre with Yola, Mavis Staples, and Robert Randolph followed by a stop at Greensboro’s White Oak Amphitheatre on June 3. The tour will also make stops in Wilmington on June 22 (Live Oak Bank Pavilion) and Asheville on June 25 (Salvage Station) with Trombone Shorty, Ziggy Marley, Mavis Staples, and Robert Randolph.
Trombone Shorty released his latest album, Lifted, in April of 2022 through Blue Note Records, and recently performed at the MusiCares Person of the Year event honoring Berry Gordy and Smokey Robinson during Grammy week, also performing at the Grammy Salute to Paul Simon.
Legendary soul singer Mavis Staples released a collaborative album, Carry Me Home, in 2022 with the late Levon Helm recorded at Helm’s Midnight Ramble in 2011.
