WNBA legend Candace Parker, a three-time champion, two-time WNBA MVP and Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame inductee, is entering the sports-card and memorabilia business, partnering with Score More Sports to bring its first location to Charlotte’s University City neighborhood. Parker is partnering with Wesley Hsu, who operates the company’s existing shops in Winston-Salem, Salisbury and Greensboro.

The Charlotte location, set to officially open to the public Saturday, November 14, will feature the largest selection among the company’s four stores and celebrate its grand opening with a special appearance and meet-and-greet with Parker.

Hsu, who attended graduate school with Parker’s brother, Marcus, became part of the Score More Sports ownership group in 2021 and has since helped expand the business beyond its original location, which opened in 2011.

Wesley Hsu, owner of Score More Sports, attended graduate school with Candace Parker’s brother, Marcus, and has partnered with Parker on the Charlotte location.

“We’re excited to open a store with Candace as my business partner,” Hsu said. “She is actually a hobbyist herself, and an avid collector of sports cards, particularly University of Tennessee athletes and Allen Iverson, her favorite player.”

The new store will feature dedicated sections for the Hornets and Panthers, along with other local and regional teams. Collectors can expect a wide selection of NBA, NFL, MLB and soccer cards, one of the largest selections of WNBA cards in the country, as well as Pokémon cards.

Score More Sports, located in University City, will offer a wide selection of NBA, NFL, MLB and soccer cards, one of the largest selections of WNBA cards in the country, as well as Pokémon cards.

“This store is designed to have more of an upscale aesthetic to cater to collectors at all price points,” Hsu said. “We’ll have very inexpensive and fun low-end cards, as well as rarer cards for collectors.”

According to Grand View Research, the global sports trading-card market was valued at an estimated $13.5 billion in 2025 and is projected to reach $14.5 billion in 2026 and $24.7 billion by 2033, reflecting a projected annual growth rate of 7.9%. Women’s basketball has also contributed to the growing interest in sports-card collecting. Professional Sports Authenticator (PSA), a leading sports-card grading and authentication company, graded approximately 159,000 WNBA cards from January through September 2025, up from 58,000 during the same period in 2024 — a 174% increase year over year.

Candace Parker will make a special appearance at the grand opening of Score More Sports on Saturday, November 14, from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m.

Score More Sports also plans to host additional trading nights, community gatherings and special athlete appearances at the Charlotte location, while creating opportunities to celebrate and support women in the hobby.

The grand opening and meet-and-greet with Candace Parker will take place Saturday, November 14, from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. at the new Score More Sports location, 10210 Berkeley Place Drive, in University City.
