It’s been a big year for Charlotte and North Carolina hip-hop. With the emergence of DaBaby into the rap stratosphere and features on several charting singles, the Queen City rapper connected with another Charlotte titan Lute on the Revenge of The Dreamers III compilation album with the track, “Under The Sun.”
Featuring an opening verse from Dreamville head honcho J. Cole, many are still in awe of the uncredited vocal contribution by Kendrick Lamar. The song became an instant Charlotte classic, and now has received the full music video treatment, directed by Scott Lazer and starring all three artists Cole, Lute and DaBaby.
Opening with slow-motion shots in a convenience store with DaBaby and Lute both rocking Hornets gear, the three wander through the inner city of Bronx, New York.
