After a three-week break, Charlotte FC returns to MLS action Saturday night against the New York Red Bulls at Bank of America Stadium. Charlotte is currently sixth place in the Eastern Conference and a win could bolster their playoff hopes. They’ll face a tough opponent as the fourth-place Red Bulls are on an eight-match unbeaten streak, including a 3-1 victory over Charlotte in May. It will be the sixth meeting between the two teams, with New York holding a 2-1-2 advantage.

Charlotte FC recently signed 27-year-old attacking midfielder Pep Biel on loan from Olympiacos, to strengthen the team’s attack as they push for the playoffs. Biel has recorded 53 goals and 41 assists in 277 professional matches, having played for Real Zaragoza, FC Copenhagen, and FC Augsburg. Biel joins Tim Ream as new acquisitions; the USNMT World Cup and Premier League veteran defender, Ream, spent the last nine seasons with Fulham FC in both the English Premier League and English Championship.
