Coming off the release of their new album, Olustee, in February, soulful Southern rocker JJ Grey & Mofro will perform at The Amp Ballantyne Thursday night with blues guitarist Cedric Burnside as an opening act.
JJ Grey & Mofro have performed at multiple festivals throughout the years including Lollapalooza, Bonnaroo, Wakarusa, Austin City Limits Festival, Montreal Jazz Festival, and Grey has shared stages with esteemed artists such as B.B. King, The Allman Brothers Band, The Black Crowes, Lenny Kravitz, Jeff Beck, Ben Harper, and Mavis Staples.
Cedric Burnside, who is the son of blues drummer Calvin Jackson and grandson of blues guitarist R. L. Burnside, is coming off a Grammy Award win (Best Traditional Blues Album) for his album I Be Trying, in 2022. Burnside released a new album, Hill Country Love, on April 5.
