Following the release of her first album in five years, Chicago rapper and poet Noname will hit the road this fall for a 22-date North American tour, coming to Charlotte on October 24. Releasing her new album, Sundial, on August 11, this will be Noname’s first official tour in four years and her first performance in North Carolina since 2019 (in Raleigh with Anderson .Paak and Thundercat).
Getting her start with slam poetry, Noname rose to prominence in 2013 appearing on the track “Lost” on Chance the Rapper’s Acid Rap, releasing her debut project Telefone in 2016 featuring Smino, Saba, Ravyn Lenae, and Raury. She followed up with her debut studio album Room 25 in 2018, garnering wide praise throughout the industry and landing on several year-end best albums lists.
Fresh off his BET Hip Hop Awards performance, Charlotte’s own Jamla/Roc Nation artist Reuben Vincent will be opening for Noname Tuesday night. Vincent released his debut Jamla/Roc Nation project, Love is War, in January, and is scheduled to drop a new single, “Grand Cherry,” on November 8. Vincent was also recently featured on the Roc Nation/PUMA mixtape, Humble Soles, hosted by the legendary DJ Clue.
