Grammy Award-winning musician Trombone Shorty returns to Charlotte this week with his band, Orleans Avenue. Troy Andrews, best known by his stage name Trombone Shorty, grew up in the Tremé neighborhood of New Orleans, in a rich family lineage of jazz music and second-line parades. He performed at New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival with Bo Diddly at the age of four, and joined the Stooges Brass Band as a teenager.

Throughout his career, he has collaborated with artists such as Jon Batiste, Pharrell, Tank and the Bangas, Bruno Mars, Mark Ronson, ZHU, Normani, and Ringo Starr, performing at Coachella, Bonnaroo, Lollapalooza, Newport Folk, and Newport Jazz. Signed to the famed Blue Note Records, he released his debut with the label, Parking Lot Symphony, in 2017, and his latest album, Lifted, in 2022.
