Hootie and the Blowfish have announced a “one-night-only” concert on February 17 at PNC Arena the night before the Carolina Hurricanes host the Washington Capitals in the 2023 NHL Stadium Series at Carter–Finley Stadium in Raleigh. Joining Hootie and the Blowfish on the bill will be fellow South Carolina indie-folk rockers, SUSTO.
The 2023 Stadium Series will be the Hurricanes’ first outdoor game, making them the 28th NHL team to participate in the unique hockey experience.
Hootie and the Blowfish reunited in 2019 for a 44-city tour to commemorate the 25th anniversary of the release of Cracked Rear View, one of the best-selling albums of all time. They released their sixth studio album, Imperfect Circle, on November 1, 2019, their first in over a decade. Charleston, South Carolina’s SUSTO released their latest album, Time in the Sun, in October 2021 through New West Records, recently performing at Riverfront Revival, a festival curated by Hootie and the Blowfish frontman Darius Rucker.
The Hurricanes will also host a free Fan Fest downtown on Fayetteville Street on Friday, February 17, 2023, from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. The event will feature street hockey, ice skating, local vendors, food trucks, craft beer, live music, art installations, photo stations, kids zone activations, and more.
Presale for Hootie and the Blowfish and SUSTO at PNC Arena start Tuesday, November 8 at 10 a.m. (code: HBF2023). Tickets go on sale to the general public Friday, November 11 at 10 a.m.
