Eight-time Grammy Award-winning pop-country star Kacey Musgraves will return to Charlotte this fall following the announcement of her sixth studio album, Middle of Nowhere, set for release on May 1. Produced alongside longtime collaborators Daniel Tashian and Ian Fitchuk, the album introduces a new chapter for Musgraves, beginning with the lead single “Dry Spell” and the title track, inspired by a roadside sign in her tiny hometown of Golden, Texas, that reads “Somewhere in the Middle of Nowhere,” a phrase that became the emotional and thematic backbone of the project.
The arena run kicks off on Musgraves’ birthday (August 21) at the United Center in Chicago and will arrive in Charlotte on October 2 at Spectrum Center. Middle of Nowhere reflects a period of post-breakup introspection, leaning into open space and traditional Western sounds while continuing to push genre boundaries. The album weaves together pedal steel, accordion, and dancehall rhythms with touches of bluegrass, pop, Norteño, and Zydeco, featuring collaborations with Willie Nelson, Miranda Lambert, Billy Strings, and Gregory Alan Isakov.
The tour follows the success of 2024’s Deeper Well, which marked Musgraves’ biggest debut sales week and produced the Grammy-winning single “The Architect,” as well as her first Billboard Hot 100 No. 1, “I Remember Everything,” alongside Zach Bryan. Musgraves has earned eight Grammy Awards, including Album of the Year for 2018’s Golden Hour.
Supporting acts on the tour include Midland, Flatland Cavalry, Carter Faith, Estevie, Charles Wesley Godwin, William Beckmann, Gabriella Rose, and The Brudi Brothers, with Estevie set to open the Charlotte date.
