Coming off the release of his new album, Utopia, Houston rapper Travis Scott has announced a North American tour coming to Charlotte (October 11 at Spectrum Center) and Raleigh (October 13 + 14 at PNC Arena). The 32-year-old rapper recently performed at Rome’s Circus Maximus to celebrate his fourth studio album, which reached No. 1 on the Billboard 200 albums charts with the third biggest week of 2023, and the largest for any hip-hop or rap album this year.
Scott last performed in North Carolina in 2019 for his Astroworld tour. His 2021 music festival of the same name was shrouded in controversy after ten people died and hundreds were injured in the crowd. Scott has settled with many of the victim’s families, but he and show organizers are still facing several civil suits that amount to millions in potential damages. There has been no statement on if there will be extra safety precautions for the tour or opening acts in each city.
Update (8/29): The dates for Travis Scott’s Circus Maximus Tour have been confirmed. Tickets will go on sale Thursday, August 31 at 10 a.m.
