Pop star Charlie Puth headlines Skyla Credit Union Amphitheatre, joined by rising alt-pop singer Ally Salort and New York pop-soul band Lawrence. Over the past decade, Puth has established himself as one of pop music’s premier songwriters and producers, scoring hits with songs such as “Attention,” “We Don’t Talk Anymore,” “How Long,” “Light Switch,” and “Left and Right” featuring BTS star Jungkook. Beyond his own catalog, he also co-wrote and produced The Kid LAROI and Justin Bieber’s chart-topping hit “Stay.” The tour comes in support of his fourth studio album, Whatever’s Clever!, released in March, following 2022’s Charlie. Opening the show is Lawrence, the acclaimed eight-piece pop-soul band led by siblings Clyde and Gracie Lawrence. The group released its fourth album, Family Business, in 2024, and its single “Whatcha Want” became a breakthrough hit, while “Something In the Water” earned a 2026 Grammy nomination. Also joining the bill is Ally Salort, a fast-rising singer-songwriter from New Jersey who has quickly emerged as one of pop’s most promising young voices.

Families, aspiring engineers, and LEGO® enthusiasts can explore the creative process behind some of the world’s most impressive brick-built sculptures in Brick Masters Studio: Build with LEGO® Bricks Like a Pro, on display at Discovery Place Science from May 23 through September 7. Created by internationally acclaimed LEGO® artist Sean Kenney, the exhibition features more than 100 sculptures constructed from over two million LEGO® pieces. Produced by Imagine, with science content developed by Science North, the exhibit explores the intersection of art, science, design, and engineering. Guests can step inside a recreation of a professional artist’s studio, learn how large-scale creations are conceived and built, and take part in hands-on challenges that test creativity, problem-solving, and engineering skills. The performance combines Baran Dance’s expressive choreography with Moa’s atmospheric soundscapes in the museum’s atrium in a 30-minute work that explores the intersection of movement, music, and space. Charlotte Squawks 21: Hold My Beer! brings the city’s longest-running original musical comedy back to Booth Playhouse from June 4-28. Part sketch comedy, part satire, and part musical parody, the production takes aim at Charlotte culture, current events, and pop hits. Founded in the early 2000s as a local fundraising and satire project created by Charlotte-area writers and performers, the show was co-created by attorney and comedy writer Brian Kahn and radio host Mike Collins as a one-time benefit performance originally intended to raise money for local public television. Over time, the format expanded into a full-scale theatrical tradition at Booth Playhouse, becoming a recurring show that updates its material each year to reflect current events in Charlotte and beyond.

Camp North End’s Crossroads Cinema returns for its 2026 season of free outdoor movies, kicking off Thursday with a screening of the sci-fi comedy classic Men in Black. The 1997 blockbuster starring Will Smith and Tommy Lee Jones will be shown under the stars on Ford Green, accompanied by retro arcade games, concessions, pizza from Gravity Pizza, and adult beverages. Directed by Barry Sonnenfeld, Men in Black became one of the biggest films of the late 1990s and helped cement Smith’s status as a box-office star, blending action, comedy, and science fiction as two secret agents investigate extraterrestrial activity on Earth. Sports Wax Promotions and Wilder Side of Sports are bringing one of the Southeast’s largest sports memorabilia events to Cabarrus Arena in Concord with the Collector’s Jam. The three-day convention will feature more than 600 tables of sports cards, memorabilia, trading card games, Pokémon, anime collectibles, and video games, along with NBA Hall of Famer Allen Iverson, who will appear on June 6 for autograph signings and photos. The 11-time NBA All-Star and member of the NBA 75th Anniversary Team will make a rare convention appearance, along with NBA legends Vernon Maxwell and Antoine Walker, Carolina Panthers players Jonathon Brooks and Ja’Tavion Sanders, and Duke quarterback Walker Eget. BDXM: Baran Dance x Moa is a contemporary dance and live music experience bringing together contemporary dance company Baran Dance and experimental post-rock band Moa. The collaboration blends Baran Dance’s expressive choreography and physical storytelling with Moa’s moody, atmospheric soundscapes, creating a multi-sensory performance that explores themes of human connection through a series of abstract vignettes. Nearly 30 local artists contribute to the production, which also features live projections by Sweat Transfer, adding a visual layer to the performance’s immersive design. The project highlights the creative partnership between Baran Dance and Moa, a Charlotte-based experimental trio composed of Lindsey Ryan, David Driscoll, and Chris Walldorf.

Charlotte Symphony: Black Panther in Concert at Belk Theater (June 5-6)

The Charlotte Symphony Orchestra brings Marvel’s Black Panther to life in a live-to-picture concert at Belk Theater, led by world-renowned conductor Anthony Parnther. The event marks the first time Black Panther will be presented in North Carolina with its score performed live on stage. Spike Lee’s 2000 satire on race, media, and entertainment in America, Bamboozled, screens at Independent Picture House, offering audiences a chance to revisit the provocative film that follows a television producer who pitches a modern minstrel show in an attempt to get fired — only to see it become a hit with disturbing consequences. The ensemble cast includes Damon Wayans, Jada Pinkett Smith, Michael Rapaport, Savion Glover, and Tommy Davidson. The Knothole Foundation, in partnership with the Charlotte Knights, will host a free MLB Pitch, Hit & Run event on Saturday at Richard “Stick” Williams Dream Fields. Designed for boys and girls ages 7-14, the event gives young athletes the chance to showcase their baseball and softball skills in hitting, pitching, and running competitions. Participants’ performances are measured and ranked, with top scorers advancing from local competition to team championships held at MLB stadiums, and ultimately earning the opportunity to compete on the MLB World Series stage. Southern rock revivalists The Black Crowes return to Charlotte following the release of their 10th studio album, A Pound of Feathers, in March. Led by frontman Chris Robinson, the band is best known for their multi-platinum albums Shake Your Money Maker and The Southern Harmony and Musical Companion, which helped establish The Black Crowes as one of the defining Southern rock bands of the ’90s. With more than 30 million albums sold worldwide, the group’s 2024 release, Happiness Bastards, earned a Grammy nomination for Best Rock Album. Opening the show is Texas Southern rock powerhouse Whiskey Myers, whose gritty blend of country, blues, and rock has earned a devoted following and widespread recognition through appearances on the hit series Yellowstone.
