Three of pop-punk’s most enduring acts take the stage in Charlotte as Yellowcard, New Found Glory, and Plain White T’s bring a night of early-2000s hits. Jacksonville’s Yellowcard, known for their distinctive violin-driven sound and hits like “Ocean Avenue,” “Only One,” and “Lights and Sounds,” return following their 2022 reunion and the release of their latest album, Better Days. Asheville’s Wednesday bring their blend of shoegaze, noise rock, and alternative country to The Underground, joined by opener Tombstone Poetry. Formed in Asheville in 2017 by Karly Hartzman (vocals, guitar), the band has earned critical acclaim for its vivid, often semi-autobiographical songwriting about life in the American South. Across albums including Twin Plagues (2021), Rat Saw God (2023), and Bleeds (2025), Wednesday has built a reputation for pairing raw, distorted guitars with sharp, narrative folk songwriting, earning praise from outlets including Pitchfork, NPR, and Rolling Stone, coming off a well-received performance at Coachella earlier this year. Opening the night, Tombstone Poetry — a six-piece Asheville “noise-folk” outfit led by Caelan Burris –brings a similarly textured mix of alt-country, grunge, and experimental indie rock.
