Genre-blending saxophonist, singer, and multi-instrumentalist, Masego has announced a tour that will make stops in Charlotte on August 19 at The Fillmore and Raleigh on August 18 at The Ritz.
The Jamaican-American music virtuoso, known for fusing jazz, hip-hop, R&B, soul, and Caribbean influences into his signature “TrapHouseJazz” sound, will perform music from a forthcoming project, according to an official press release.
Masego is best known for songs like “Tadow,” “Navajo,” “Mystery Lady,” and “Queen Tings,” along with several collaborations including Brasstracks’ “Melanin Man,” Alex Isley’s “Good & Plenty,” SiR’s “Old Age,” Kehlani’s “Hate the Club,” Kaytranada and PJ Morton’s “Need It,” and Jean Deaux’s “Ease Up.”
Primarily a saxophonist, Masego first gained widespread attention with his collaborative project The Pink Polo EP alongside Medasin in 2015, featuring standout tracks like “Girls That Dance” and “Sunday Vibes.”
He released his acclaimed debut studio album Lady Lady in 2018, followed by Studying Abroad in 2020, which included the Grammy-nominated single “Mystery Lady” featuring Don Toliver. His latest full-length release was the self-titled Masego in 2023.
Presale will begin on Tuesday, June 9 at 10 a.m. through Masego.com, and tickets go on sale to the public on Friday, June 12 at 10 a.m.
